Global Splendor Shines Online, Youths Across Five Continents Forge a New Chapter ——2026 "Journey of Dreams in Zhejiang" International Students Chinese Talent Show Concludes Successfully


On the evening of April 24, the 19th Zhejiang Provincial Journey of Dreams in Zhejiang Series Events — Chinese Talent Show was held in the gymnasium of Hangzhou Dianzi University. Jointly sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, Zhejiang Provincial Government Information Office, Zhejiang Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism, and Zhejiang Radio & TV Group, the event was co-organized by Hangzhou Dianzi University and the Science, Education, Film and TV Channel of Zhejiang Radio and Television Station.

More than 300 international students from over 20 universities across Zhejiang Province presented a splendid cross-border cultural feast through diverse forms including dance, music, drama and intangible cultural heritage performances. They fully depicted the image of Zhejiang where tradition integrates with modernity and reality merges with virtuality. The event supported the 2026 World

Digital Education Conference and built a sound international cultural atmosphere.

At the start of the event, international students from the host university, Hangzhou Dianzi University, electrified the audience with a tech-themed dance titled Global Loading. Known as "the Cradle of Chinese IT Entrepreneurs", HDU’s international students innovatively combined coding elements with dance moves, interpreting their overseas study experience of coming to China from all over the world. Ye Mingkai, an international student host from the United States, shared his excitement: “As the host, it’s incredibly cool to host such a grand event right on my campus tonight!”

The situational speech Voices of Youths from Five Continents delivered by Zhejiang University gathered outstanding international students worldwide, who narrated their joys and sorrows as well as their dreams of studying in Zhejiang and aspirations for China.

The dance Galloping Steeds by Zhejiang University of Technology demonstrated the courage and strength of the Year of the Horse with overwhelming momentum.

The intangible cultural heritage ancient-style show Warmth of Yongshang Bridal Dowry from Ningbo University presented the well-known "Qian-li Red Dowry" wedding culture of eastern Zhejiang on stage. Intangible cultural heritage elements such as bridal sedan chairs, traditional furniture and delicate embroidery led the audience to travel through ancient and modern times.


The monkey opera Golden Monkey Brings Auspicious Blessings by Shaoxing University displayed the exquisite monkey imitation skills of Chinese opera. The performers wielded golden cudgels powerfully, with every movement and gesture embodying solid professional skills.

The scenic dance Spring Outing Market · Guests from Afar produced by Communication University of Zhejiang allowed international students to experience the earthly charm of traditional Chinese folk customs amid a market scene filled with sugar-coated haws on sticks, kites and paper-cutting art.

The dance Tea Heritage presented by Zhejiang Gongshang University told the story of tea culture through every subtle movement, covering tea picking, stir-frying and tea tasting. Anshi, an international student from France, commented with emotion: “Chinese tea is far more than a drink; it carries a quiet power within.”

The skit Cross-border Live Streaming by Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics focused on the booming cross-border e-commerce live streaming industry, presenting inspiring entrepreneurial stories of international live stream promoters selling Chinese products to the whole world.

The opera dance Ode to Pear Blossoms · Remembrance from Zhejiang Tourism Vocational College interpreted Peking Opera classics with elegant water-sleeve performances.

The dance Wing Chun by Zhejiang Normal University showcased the beauty of Chinese martial arts through flexible yet powerful dance movements.

The musical skit Zhejiang, Heard by the World of Wenzhou University depicted the stunning landscapes and scenery of Zhejiang with soothing melodies as felt by international students.

The fashion and song-dance show Cloud Garments · Rising Tide by China Academy of Art integrated original clothing designs created by the academy’s international students, bringing the audience a stunning visual feast.

The skit My Future Is Not a Dream by Hangzhou Normal University stood out as the most imaginative performance of the night. Four international students traveled across time to engage in dialogues with their 30-year-older selves, turning the oath of "a promising future" into vivid reality.

As the grand finale, the song and dance performance Study in Zhejiang by Zhejiang Sci-Tech University adopted the imagery of bridges to interpret international students’ mission as cultural envoys connecting China and the world.

On the same night, the award ceremony of the influential "Journey of Dreams in Zhejiang · Sing for the Future" Zhejiang Provincial International Students Chinese Singing Competition was held during the talent show. More than 200 international students from over 40 universities in Zhejiang competed in the contest. After rigorous selection, 3 first prizes, 7 second prizes and 12 third prizes were awarded.

A certificate presentation ceremony for the "Zhejiang Study Love Ambassadors" was also held at the event. Youssef from Morocco studying at Hangzhou Dianzi University, Hu Jiancheng from Singapore at China Academy of Art, and Saharnas from Russia at Huzhou University were honored with the title for their selfless kindness and charitable deeds in Zhejiang.

At the closing of the show, the launch ceremony of Journey of Dreams in Zhejiang · Savouring Poetic and Picturesque Zhejiang, co-initiated by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education and Zhejiang Radio & TV Group, was officially held. Meanwhile, Poetic and Picturesque Zhejiang, a volume of the National Conditions Education Local Characteristic Textbook Series, was officially released. Compiled jointly by experts and teachers from 9 Zhejiang universities including Hangzhou Dianzi University, Zhejiang University and Zhejiang University of Technology, the textbook will support future research and study tours. It aims to create an immersive and resonating mobile classroom, boost inbound tourism, and explore a distinctive Zhejiang model integrating national conditions education with inbound cultural promotion.

As an annual landmark cultural event for international students in Zhejiang Province, the "Journey of Dreams in Zhejiang" series activities are designed to help international students gain in-depth insights into Chinese culture, witness Zhejiang’s remarkable development achievements, and boost Sino-foreign cultural exchanges. Over its 19 years of development, the event has attracted tens of thousands of international students from more than 170 countries and regions across over 50 Zhejiang universities. It has grown into a vital platform for showcasing international students’ elegance and spreading fine traditional Chinese culture.
