
On the noon of December 11, the 2025 International Cultural Festival of Hangzhou Dianzi University successfully opened at the May Fourth Square on the Xiasha Campus.
Qian Bo, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, Kazi Ziaul Hasan, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Bangladeshi Embassy in China, Soren Mispe, Second Secretary, as well as heads of various functional departments of the university and representatives of Chinese and foreign teachers and students attended the opening ceremony.
In her address at the opening ceremony, Qian Bo pointed out that it is hoped that the International Cultural Festival will serve as an opportunity to enhance the international atmosphere on campus, vigorously promote cultural integration and people-to-people bonds, build a platform for all teachers and students to participate together, enhance friendship, facilitate exchanges and share joy, and jointly foster a more open, diverse and inclusive cultural exchange environment.
Student representatives from various countries entered the venue one after another in their distinctive national costumes, holding their national flags. They showcased the cultural etiquette and positive spirit of their respective countries, presenting the audience with a beautiful picture of diverse cultures in harmony.
Leaders and guests attending the International Cultural Festival jointly pressed the launch button to write a new chapter of "One Heart for the World, One Heart at HDU", marking the official opening of the 2025 International Cultural Festival of Hangzhou Dianzi University.


At the international cultural fair, students from more than 20 countries turned their traditional costumes into a moving spectacle. Turkmen lamb-fur hats and Tajik embroidered dresses sparkled with dance steps; business suits and embroidered robes mingled, blending the vibrancy of the world into one lively gathering.
Chinese and international students wandered between booths with their “passports” to collect stamps, and scanned QR codes at each station to vote for their favorite food “TOP 1”. The atmosphere was warm and bustling.International students from four sister universities, including Zhejiang Gongshang University and Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, were also invited to set up booths. They exchanged cultures, learned from each other, and showcased their distinctive traditions including costumes, songs and dances, cuisines, and traditional Chinese medicine techniques.


The inauguration ceremony of the **Hangzhou Dianzi University Alumni Association in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh** was held during the opening ceremony of the Cultural Festival.
Wang Yi’an, Dean of the School of International Education, on behalf of the Preparatory Committee, introduced the preparations for the alumni association and announced the proposed list of council members. Qian Bo announced the official establishment of the alumni association.
An Zhe, a Bangladeshi graduate and President of the Alumni Association, delivered a speech, expressing sincere gratitude to his alma mater for its education and congratulations on the founding of the association. He stated that the newly established alumni association will serve as a platform for maintaining bonds with the alma mater, sharing resources, connecting and empowering alumni, and promoting cooperation and mutual growth.
Kazi Ziaul Hasan, Minister of the Bangladeshi Embassy in China, also delivered a speech to congratulate the establishment of the alumni association. He noted that the embassy will actively follow the development of the association and play a positive role in enhancing people-to-people and cultural exchanges between Bangladesh and China.

On the evening of December 11, the 2025 International Cultural Festival Gala of Hangzhou Dianzi University was grandly held at the theater of the Student Activity Center.
The gala consisted of three chapters: *One Heart Across the World, Together with HDU, Beauty in Harmony*, showcasing the charm of diverse cultures and full of youthful vitality.
The performances were rich in variety, brilliant and spectacular, with a warm and lively atmosphere.
The colorful national flag fashion show, songs in different languages performed one after another, and passionate dances ignited the audience again and again.
The gala also invited international students from Zhejiang Gongshang University and Zhejiang University of Media and Communications to present wonderful dance performances.

A commendation ceremony was held during the gala, with awards presented including “Generation Z International Communication Ambassadors”, “Campus Guardian Stars”, “Outstanding Individuals in International Student Education and Management”, “Most Commercially Valuable National Booth”, and “Most Popular National Booth”.The gala concluded with Chinese and international teachers and students singing “Love Each Other”in their respective languages, jointly performing a joyful melody that promotes friendship between Chinese and foreign people and advances the community with a shared future for mankind.

With diversity as its brush and exchange as its ink, this International Cultural Festival has not only unfolded a colorful scroll of civilizations from all countries, but also woven a bond of friendship spanning mountains and seas.We perceive our differences in the patterns of costumes, draw closer to one another in the aroma of cuisines, and resonate with each other in the melodies of songs and dances.This is a vivid illustration of the community with a shared future for mankind.

During his stay in Hangzhou, Minister Kazi Ziaul Hasan and his delegation also held official talks with President Chen Jiming and Deputy Party Secretary Qian Bo. The two sides exchanged views on people-to-people and cultural exchanges, talent cultivation, industry-university-research cooperation and other areas.
He noted that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh, a milestone of great significance. He expressed hope that a regular cooperation mechanism could be established to foster collaboration between HDU and educational institutions in Bangladesh, so as to promote friendly exchanges and people-to-people bonds between the two countries through educational cooperation.
