A Delegation from the Office of the Basic Education Commission of Thailand Visits Our University for Cooperation Negotiations

On the afternoon of September 17, a delegation led by Thaipanut Udomsree, Director of the Office of the Basic Education Commission under the Ministry of Education of Thailand, Thanapawat Thang-On, Project Consultant of the Office of the Basic Education Commission of the Thai Ministry of Education, and Li Wenjing, Director of the Thailand Belt and Road Chinese Language Center, visited our university for a friendly visit and cooperation exchange.

Wang Yi'an, Dean of the School of International Education, Fei Chenhan, Vice Dean, and responsible persons of relevant functional departments of the school warmly received the guests. The two sides held in-depth and fruitful talks on the achievements of previous cooperation and future development directions.

At the beginning of the meeting, Wang Yi'an, on behalf of the School, extended a warm welcome to the officials from the Ministry of Education of Thailand. He reviewed the cooperative achievements in student recruitment between the School and the Office of the Basic Education Commission of Thailand over the past year. Dean Wang Yi'an thanked the Thai partners for their support and spoke highly of the implementation effect and positive influence of the programs already carried out.

He pointed out that this cooperation has built a valuable channel for Thai students to study in China and effectively promoted educational connectivity between China and Thailand. He expressed the hope that both sides could plan ahead and make early arrangements this year to further carry out cooperation in such fields as overseas recruitment of degree students, recruitment of preparatory students, and short-term training programs for Thai teachers and students coming to China.

Thaipanut Udomsree, Director of the Office of the Basic Education Commission under the Ministry of Education of Thailand, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception by the School of International Education and conveyed the Thai Ministry of Education’s great importance attached to the educational cooperation between the two sides. He noted that the university’s distinctive strengths in digital technology and artificial intelligence, as well as its internationalized philosophy of running education, had left a deep impression on him.

He specifically mentioned that with the deepening of bilateral cooperation, Hangzhou Dianzi University has been gaining increasing popularity in Thailand, which has laid a more solid foundation of student sources for their educational cooperation. Meanwhile, the Thai Ministry of Education is willing to act as a bridge for cooperation in talent cultivation between Hangzhou Dianzi University and renowned universities in Thailand.

Thanapawat Thang-On, Project Consultant, stated that on the basis of consolidating existing cooperative achievements, he looked forward to the two sides jointly exploring and developing more forms of short-term training programs and distinctive courses to meet the diverse learning needs of Thai students and further promote in-depth integration of education between China and Thailand.

This visit has laid a solid foundation for the follow-up cooperation between the two sides. Adhering to the concept of openness and inclusiveness, the School of International Education will continue to expand and deepen cooperation and exchanges with top educational institutions in Thailand and across the globe, so as to inject strong new impetus into accelerating the college’s international strategic layout and enhancing the global influence of its education.
