"Zhejiang Digital Culture Jiangnan" 2025 Chinese Bridge Summer Camp opened smoothly

On July 4th, the opening ceremony of the "Digital Zhejiang Culture Jiangnan" 2025 Chinese Bridge Summer Camp was held in the fan-shaped conference room on the second floor of the Science and Technology Museum. Wang Yian, the Dean of the International Education College, and Wu Wei, the Deputy Director of the International Department, attended and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was hosted by Fei Chenhan, the Vice Dean of the School of International Education. Twenty-four campers from the United States, Italy, Brazil, and Egypt participated in the ceremony.

Institute Director Wang Yian first addressed on behalf of the organizing unit. He emphasized that language is an important bridge connecting the world, and the purpose of this summer camp is to provide a high-quality platform for young people from various countries to learn Chinese and experience Chinese society and culture. He encouraged the students to experience "Digital China, Cultural Jiangnan" up close through Chinese language courses, cultural experiences, city exploration, and interactions with young people from China and abroad. He urged them to embrace diverse cultures with an open and inclusive mindset, actively become ambassadors of cultural exchange, jointly promote exchanges and integration between different cultures, and wished the summer camp great success.


Wu Wei represented the school in extending a warm welcome to all the guests and students. She expressed her expectations for the campers using the three keywords "explore," "communicate," and "share," hoping that they could fully explore Zhejiang's historical heritage, natural scenery, and technological development, embrace diverse cultures with an open mind, enhance mutual understanding and friendship through communication, and actively share what they see, feel, and hear, becoming messengers of cultural communication. Finally, she wished everyone could gain something from the summer camp and leave behind beautiful memories.

Later, the director team, the summer camp group leaders, and the head teachers successively introduced the specific schedule of the summer camp to the students, including Chinese language courses, cultural experiences, city exploration, etc., providing detailed introduction and guidance for the campers' learning and living for the next few days.

Finally, the international student representative, Xu Feiya from Indonesia, took the stage to speak. She expressed her deep anticipation and beautiful expectations for this summer camp, and she said that she was grateful for the "Chinese Cup" for bringing them together. She hopes that through this activity, they can refresh friendships, broaden their horizons, write new stories together, and contribute to future international exchanges and cooperation.

It is reported that this "Chinese Bridge" summer camp is organized by the School of International Education, with participants being the competitors of the Storytelling Session of the 2024 Chinese Bridge Global Chinese Proficiency Test. They will spend a rich and fulfilling study and research journey in Hangzhou and Tiantai. The college has meticulously planned language and culture courses covering humanities and science and technology themes, and arranged for interesting cultural and tourism activities such as boat tours on the Grand Canal, visits to intangible cultural heritage museums, and explorations of Mount Tiantai; at the same time, they organized visits to representative digital technology companies such as Yun Shu Deep and Yu Shu Technology, experiencing the charm of Hangzhou as a digital capital, and comprehensively enhancing the understanding and insights of the campers into Chinese society and culture, as well as fostering exchanges and friendships with Chinese youth.
