2025 Application Guideline for International Students

 Study at Hangzhou Dianzi University

How to Apply?

1. HDU International Students’ Admission Office will process your application documents after you submit the documents according to the application requirement to the online application system (https://lxsgl.hdu.edu.cn/) before the application deadline.

2. HDU International Students’ Admission Office will send you a working email in the application system after carefully reviewing your application documents.

3. Applicants must complete the Registration Fee Payment (RMB 600) on the registration date if you are recruited.

4. HDU International Students’ Admission Office will do HDU International Students Admission Letter and JW202 Form for the admitted applicants.

5. Holding the required visa application documents, the applicants need to go to the China Consulate General or China Embassy for X Visa (according to the visa application requirement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China).

Application Requirement

The applicants should be Non-Chinese citizens with valid foreign passport.

＊Applicants who have given up their original Chinese citizenship and become foreign citizens, must acquire foreign citizenship before April 30, 2021, and must have lived abroad more than 2 years from April 30, 2021 to April 30, 2025 (more than 9 months of residence abroad per year can be considered as one year, taking entry and exit stamps as evidence).

1. Chinese Language Program Applicants

Between the age of 17-25 with a High School Certificate or Diploma

2. Undergraduate Degree Programs Applicants

Between the age of 18-25 with a High School Certificate or Diploma

3. Master Degree Programs Applicants

Under the age of 32 with B.A Degree Certificate or Diploma

4. Doctor and Ph.D. Degree Programs Applicants

Under the age of 35 with a Master’s Degree Certificate or Diploma

Note:

(1) The above applicants must be Non-Chinese citizens in good health with Non-criminal records. These foreigners guarantee to observe Chinese disciplines and laws and obey the university rules and regulations. Do respect Chinese culture and customs during your study at HDU.

(2) The applicants must hold HSK4 or HSK5 certificates for the Chinese-taught programs.

(3) The applicants’ Chinese proficiency is not required for an English-taught program. Still, either New TOEFL (above 80),  IELTS (above 5.5), or the related Certificate, will be accepted after providing is confirmed or met the application requirement.

Application Document

Every applicant must upload the following documents to the online application system (https://lxsgl.hdu.edu.cn/):

1. First Page of the Passport (valid for at least 6 month) and Valid Visa Page.

Note: If the applicant’s been to China or in China, provide the Latest Entry Seal.

2. Foreigner Physical Examination Form and International Student Health Report(Download from the website).

3. Notarized academic transcript and formal English/Chinese translation.

4. Notarized highest education Certificate or Diploma and formal English/Chinese translation.

5. HSK 4 Certificate or above for Chinese-taught Programs Applicants.

6. New TOEFL (above 80) or IELTS (above 5.5) Certificate for English-taught Programs Applicants.

7. English Version of Non-criminal Record Certificate Issued by the Local Security Department from the Applicants’ Host Country.

8. English Version of the Financial Support Statement Issued by the Local Bank from the Applicants’ Host Country.

9. Two Recommendation Letters written by 2 Associate Professors or Professors from the related universities in China and abroad for Graduates of Master or Ph.D. Applicants.

10. One Digital Photo of Two-inch, Full-faced, No Hat, the Head Part Accounts for 2/3 of Photo Size and No Border on White Background in the Recent Past 6 Months.

11. Chinese Language Graduation Certificate and Transcript for Applicants Who Studied Chinese Language Program in China Before.

12. Students who have studied in a China university or college need to provide Statement of Daily Performance issued by the university or college.

13. Study Plan of no less than 1000 words for graduate program applicants who apply first class scholarship.

Note:

1. Digital Photo

The photo must be named after your valid Passport Number. The photo's pixel must be more than 295 * 413, the height and width ratio of the image must be 4: 3, the space taken must be 1-200KB, and the format must be JPG.

2. Financial Support Certificate

Bank Certificate at least ¥50000(RMB) or above is issued by the local bank from the applicant’s host country.

3. JW202 Form

An instruction about how to download JW202 Form will be sent to your email by the system if you are recruited. Please make sure the email provided is correct and valid.
